Esteban Taperia, who on Monday was subject to a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, was arrested last week after he reportedly brought a 13-year-old girl from Guatemala to a Nashville hospital, where he allegedly admitted to fathering the child, and said he intended to raise the infant.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office data confirms Taperia, 21, and has since been charged with eight counts of felony statutory rape, and that the jail was requested to hold Taperia for a transfer to ICE custody.
Davidson County Criminal Clerk records reveal General Sessions Court Judge Allegra Walker assigned a $15,000 bond for each of the charges levied against Taperia, which together will require him to pay $120,000 to be released pending trial, unless he is subject to an immigration detainer.
Taperia’s alleged crimes, according to WSMV 4, were discovered after he transported the 13-year-old victim to the Tennessee Fetal and Medical Clinic in Nashville, where the outlet reported he identified himself as her intimate partner.
The outlet reported a police affidavit showed Taperia allegedly told authorities he met the child in Guatemala when she was just 10 years old, and that he later assisted her entry into the United States.
It is unclear whether the Taperia is accused of bringing the victim into the country illegally, but Taperia was subject to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer as of press time.
It was additionally reported that Taperia transported the minor into the country last year, and that he allegedly committed statutory rape against the child more than 200 times between October 2024 and June 2025.
The case against Taperia came just over two months after similar charges were filed against Raymundo Juan Reyes Cornelio in April, when the alleged illegal immigrant was accused of committing statutory rape against a 12-year-old girl, which also resulted in her pregnancy. Reyes Cornelio reportedly admitted to the crime, but allegedly told detectives he thought the victim was 14.
A state report published earlier this year by the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference revealed that three illegal immigrants were arrested or convicted of sex crimes against children in Davidson County during the final three months of 2024.

I noticed the “Sheriff ” if Davidson not was not contacted for a comment on his ICE cooperation. The ” jail” was requested to hold this POS for ICE. Who requested the “jail” to detain this little criminal?
CAN ANYONE GET A STATEMENT FROM THE ACTUAL SHERIFF OF DAVIDSON COUNTY?
It sure is strange that the Sheriff is never named. He has a name.

Send him back. Don’t want him here.
